Every task targets a marketplace through the region field and localises results with zipCode. The table below lists all 23 marketplaces with their codes, domains and recommended postal codes.
How region codes work
Each request body carries a region field whose value is the marketplace code from the table (us, de, jp and so on). Send region together with zipCode: region decides which marketplace is collected, zipCode decides the local delivery address used for prices, shipping and stock.
Codes are short identifiers rather than domains — the UK is uk (not gb), Japan is jp, Brazil is br. An unknown value returns error 10005 (marketplace not supported).

Why the postal code must stay stable
Amazon displays prices and shipping based on the delivery address, so one ASIN can show different prices in New York and Los Angeles, sometimes with different stock states. Keeping one postal code per marketplace makes daily price series comparable; switching addresses mid-series distorts trend analysis.
The postal codes below are known-good values for each marketplace and can be used as your default collection address. A postal code closer to your target region works too, as long as it stays constant.
Task support per marketplace
All six tasks are available across marketplaces, with a single exception: keyword collection is not supported for South Africa (za). ASIN detail, BSR lists, category lists, seller store profiles and seller store ASIN lists all work on all 23 marketplaces.
Beyond language and market size, marketplaces differ in data characteristics: US and European sites carry large review volumes and intense price competition, while emerging marketplaces (ae, sa, eg, sg, tr, za) have smaller review bases where new products rank faster — useful for early-stage observation.

Marketplace quirks worth knowing
- South Africa (za): keyword tasks are rejected with error 10005
- Canada (ca): seller store pages do not show a store address, so address is empty
- Japan (jp): postal codes contain a hyphen (e.g. 162-0802) and must be sent as-is
- European marketplaces (de/fr/it/es/nl/pl/se/be): brands often run separate listings per site
- Middle East and Singapore (ae/sa/eg/sg/tr): some detail fields such as product information tables are missing more often
- Currencies differ: the currency field states the currency — normalise before cross-marketplace aggregation
Practical tips for multi-marketplace collection
Store multi-marketplace data with ASIN + marketplace as the unique key: one product has completely independent price, rating and review data per site, so keying on ASIN alone overwrites marketplaces.
Differentiate frequency — daily or hourly for core marketplaces (us, de, jp) and weekly for secondary ones — to control volume while still tracking trends. See the product data pipeline and price data guide for concrete setups.
FAQ
Can I pass a domain instead of a code?
No. region expects a marketplace code such as us, uk or jp. Passing a domain like amazon.com returns error 10005 (marketplace not supported).
Is data for the same ASIN identical across marketplaces?
No. Price, currency, rating, review count and stock are maintained independently per marketplace, so the same ASIN can differ completely between us and de. Collect and store per marketplace.
What happens with a wrong zipCode?
A postal code that does not belong to the marketplace may return error 10004 (invalid postal code), or produce prices and stock that do not match local shoppers. Use the recommended codes below.
Why is there no keyword data for South Africa?
Keyword collection is not supported for the za marketplace. The other five task types — ASIN detail, BSR lists, category lists, seller store and store ASIN lists — work normally.
